About Core Speed 101 and Carlos Vega

I've been in  the sports training/ fitness business for 8 years now, and am blessed to be doing what I love!  I provide a progressive, fun, yet disciplined atmosphere for all to learn.   After graduating from Gibsonburg High School, Gibsonburg, Ohio, I attended Ohio State University.   After which,  I was in the United States Air Force for 10 years. I was Head Sports Trainer at the Springs Fitness & Sports Training Center prior to opening CoreSpeed101.  I've trained athletes  in ages ranging from 7 to Pro Athletes, in sports varying from Football, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Wrestling, Soccer, Volleyball, Track, Cross Country ,Swimming and Lacrosse.   Some of my past and current training experience has been with athletes( Girls/Boys) from Dripping Springs, Hays, Wimberly, Johnson City , Stony Point, Round Rock , Pflugerville,Westwood, Westlake,  Austin High, Lake Travis,  and Bowie High School. Many of which have gone on to successful collegiate careers.  I've also had the wonderful opportunity to work with Coach Amy Coulter and her St Edwards University Softball Team , and Coach Rikki Woodard, Head Softball Coach at Texas State University.

When I'm away from training, my family is my #1 priority.   We have  been blessed with three wonderful children that are just starting their sports careers.  Our family enjoys camping, golfing, swimming, and running. Staying active is  very important to us.

I look forward to meeting you and your family soon, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to guide you in your athletic endeavors.

About Wayland Harrison

Passion and a life long dedication to my own personal excellence in fitness and strength, has developed me into the ideal advocate and facilitator for the personal fitness goals of clientele across the Central Texas Region.
At age 32 with 2 young boys and a busy life style I maintain time to stay in shape and show others how a little discipline can go a long way. My specific sports include Football (athletic - agility), Powerlifting (strength - power), Track (speed - endurance), and overall Fitness Training (weight loss, muscle tone, nutrition). I coordinate my training sessions and nutritional regimens with that of the clients' normal life and training in order to maximize effects and results. My training regimens are designed from a collaboration of personal experience, personal training, and a large number of resources including but not limited too; a core group of Austin Area Certified Personal Trainers, Texas High School Strength Coaches, University of Texas, Mastered and Doctoral Kinesiology and Sports Management Professors, and 16 Years of personal participation and experience. I now can add CoreSpeed101 to my professional development and experience.

My personal experience includes an 8 years as a personal trainer, mentor, and developer of student athletes. Plus an 8 year career in Texas Powerlifting on the High School, College, and Semi-Pro levels. I participated in division one college football (University of Texas "Hook'em") and student personal trained while at the University. While Powerlifting, I achieved top honors in Texas regional and national collegiate competitions, including  3 Texas state championships, one runner up; 1 collegiate national championship, one runner up; and 1 collegiate world championship. During this time I also achieved and currently hold 3 American Powerlifting records (1997).

About Jeff Allen

My name is Jeff Allen and I'm from Waco, Texas.   I attended High School at West High were I was an honor student.  I enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and football.  I was a three year letterman in all three sports.

After high school I attended McLennan Community College for a year and a half, and then furthered my education at Concordia Texas in Austin.  There I studied Kinesiology and received a bachelors degree.  During my time at Concordia, I was a starter for basketball team for three years, and worked in the fitness center part time.

After college, I attended seminars and classes to further educate myself  in the field of fitness.  I have been a trainer for over four years, and I've been a BOOT CAMP instructor for three and a half of those years.

I enjoy playing sports, watching sports, and working out.  I also enjoy video games, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family.
